Meet Wayfinder / In your service

A good conversation.
A thread
you can return to.

Wayfinder is a software-based coach. It uses the hero’s journey and relevant personal history to help explore what matters and what you might try next.

The point is not to keep you talking to software. It is what becomes possible in the rest of your life.

Try a reflection first

Start with what helps.

Read, reflect, or explore a conversation. There is no required order, and you do not have to be a parent to belong here.

Read

At your own pace.

Stories and short practices for ordinary life. Take an idea with you, without making coaching your next step.

Personal and family options. No purchase needed to read these pages.

Reflect

A few words of your own.

Notice a situation, consider another point of view and choose a possible next step. You can leave any prompt blank.

Try the small reflection →

Unscored, with no sign-up. It does not save answers to a coaching account or replace a questionnaire.

Talk

Understand the conversation.

Learn how an ongoing rhythm works and where an existing member can review their account.

What gives it continuity

The actor changes.
The role has a history.

Not a blank chat each time. A model, an explicit coaching approach, and your retained context do different jobs.

01

The actor

The language model performs the conversation. The model can change as the service evolves; no single model is the whole coach.

02

The role

The hero’s-journey coaching guidance gives the work a consistent frame. Listen, ask, respect agency, and return to what actually happened.

03

Your material

Your retained words and history inform an organized, evolving understanding. Keeping that context separate from a model supports continuity across model changes.

A working understanding

Remembering words
isn’t the same as
being right about you.

What you said and what the coach inferred are not the same thing.

The journey map is an interpretation to revisit, not a permanent identity. In conversation, you can say “That’s not what I meant.” New information and your corrections should inform the next understanding.

Retained history does not mean every word is loaded into every response, or that the coach will recall or interpret everything correctly. Ask what an interpretation is based on.

The seven elements of the working map
Protagonist
You, with your own view of your life.
Shift
Something changes, or asks for your attention.
Quest
Something that matters enough to move toward.
Allies
People you can learn from, ask, or stand beside.
Challenge
What makes this difficult. Not a diagnosis.
Transformation
What you learn or come to do differently.
Legacy
What your actions leave with other people.
The story pattern, the research, and our part in it

We did not invent the hero’s journey. It is a recurring pattern studied in stories across history and cultures. Our contribution is a way to work with that pattern in ordinary life.

In eight studies, Rogers and colleagues (2023) found that seeing one’s life through this pattern was associated with—and, in their interventions, could increase—experienced meaning in life. Read the primary study’s abstract.

That is not proof that every person or culture follows one script, that this app is effective, or that a parenting outcome is guaranteed. The framework is an invitation to explore, not an instruction about who you must become.

How an ongoing rhythm is meant to work

A question.
A chosen action.
A return.

A useful check-in can pick up what mattered last time: what you wanted to try, what got in the way, and what changed outside the conversation.

For an existing account, available calls, messages, minutes and scheduling depend on its plan and settings. Review those in the shared account before arranging contact.
